About Melvin Flippin

Melvin Flippin is the Vice President of Customer Engagement Services (CES) at AmeriGas. In his role, Melvin focuses on Customer Engagement to increase overall customer satisfaction and retention. He partners closely with our field leadership, service and delivery teams to ensure that our customer engagement teams are able to provide exceptional service to customers.
 
Melvin joined the AmeriGas team from Verizon, where he spent 20+ years leading customer service, call center, project management and customer success teams. More recently, Melvin was the Director of Customer Success for Omni Channel Enablement, where he led multiple transformation efforts to enhance the operating model at Verizon and improve customer retention. He is passionate about creating development opportunities to support employees’ growth and increase morale. This focus has helped Melvin build high-performing teams that delivered business results and improved customer satisfaction and retention. Melvin began his career in financial operations at Verizon, which helped him to understand and build programs that enhanced customer and account management strategies for the business.
 
Melvin holds his bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Southern Illinois University.
