AmeriGas In The Community
Back to Blog List Page
Giving back to the communities we serve is something that is very near and dear to our hearts. Each year, we host hundreds of events, drives and fundraisers throughout the country which benefit our local communities.

Below are just a few highlights from last year’s community events!

AMERIGAS PET SUPPLY DRIVE – Windsor, NJ
This past October, our Windsor location donated over $500 worth of pet supplies to a local animal shelter thanks to the generosity of our customers and employees. One shelter employee said, “It’s so great that you guys are doing this. Without the help [of] the public, I don’t know what would happen to these animals.” Donations included dog food, cat food, litter, toys and more!

KINGSTON PROPANE’S HOMERS FOR THE HOMELESS – Kingston, MA
Talk about a home run! For every home run hit during the Plymouth Pilgrim’s home games, our Kingston Propane location committed to contribute $100 to the local homeless coalition. This year, Kingston Propane donated an astonishing $1,500 which helped to support 13 homeless families at the local shelter.

AMEIRGAS WATER DRIVE – Knoxville, TN
Late last November, Gatlinburg, Tennessee endured a devastating wildfire. The Gatlinburg fire destroyed 17,140 acres of land, of which 10,964 acres were in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Concerned about the health and well-being of first responders, our Knoxville location took matters into their own hands by donating 100 cases of water!

FIGHTING HOLIDAY HUNGER WITH BAL GAS – Ft. Myers, FL
Our Bal Gas location teamed up with their local sheriff’s department to help end hunger in their local community. Together, Bal Gas and the Lee County Sheriff’s Department raised over $8,500 and 5,600 pounds of food to support their local community cooperative!

NORTHERN ENERGY COAT DRIVE – Missoula, MT
In an effort to ensure all children are warm this winter, our Northern Energy location in Missoula, MT held a fundraiser to purchase new coats, hat, gloves and scarves for local children in need. Northern Energy partnered with 7 elementary schools and raised enough donations to support a total of 42 children!
