Let’s get serious for a minute. There’s no wrong way to eat a potato, but there’s a right way to make poutine. In true AmeriGas fashion, we’re tossing some chopped potatoes on the grill and smothering them in delicious melty cheese and gravy for this hearty, savory side or snack.
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 small can gravy
- ¼ lb. cheese curds
- Preheat grill to high.
- Cut potatoes into 1/3-inch-thick fries, rinse with water and then coat with olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
- Place fries in grilling basket, then grill 10-15 minutes on high. Reduce grill to medium heat, cover and allow fries to cook another 15 minutes until softened. Throughout grilling process, be sure to shake ythe basket to ensure even cooking.
- While fries are finishing, heat gravy in a small saucepan until hot.
- Once fries are done, prepare poutine by placing fries in small chili bowls and then topping with gravy and curds.
