Winter Storm Fern left communities reeling after it brought damaging ice and snow to a large span of the US in late January 2026. With accumulations of up to 4 inches in northern Mississippi that caused widespread power outages, some families struggled without heat for weeks.

AmeriGas worked quickly alongside partners at the Fuel Relief Fund and the United Cajun Navy to deliver more than 1,000 propane cylinders to help those families in need.

Tinker Phillips, Assistant Territory Manager for AmeriGas, put it best. After time spent at the relief center in Yalobusha County, she said,

“I am truly grateful to work for a company that not only serves its customers but also steps forward in times of need…It is a reminder that when we come together with purpose and compassions, we can make a real difference in people’s lives.”

The impact was immediate. AmeriGas Territory Manager, Mike Caudle was also on-site and reported that before they finished unloading, 15 cars had already lined up to wait for the much-needed cylinders.

To all of our Propane Pros who went the extra mile to coordinate this extraordinary effort, thank you for being there for the communities we are proud to live in and serve when they need us most.
