Did you know that power outages have been on the rise since 2000? It’s true! The growing population has put a major strain on our aging infrastructure, increasing the likelihood of experiencing a power outage. Add a winter storm into the mix and the probability of being without power just got greater.

That’s why investing in a generator is so important! But before you head out to pick up a new generator, keep in mind that all generators are not created equal.

1. LONG LIVE PROPANE
There’s no telling when or if you’ll need to use your generator, which is why when you should consider the fuel source when investing in a new generator. Unlike gasoline, which has a shelf life of 12 months, or diesel, which expires after 18-24 months, propane’s shelf life is indefinite. That means you won’t be wasting fuel—or money—just because you didn’t use your generator this year!

2. SIMPLE STORAGE
One of the many advantages of purchasing a propane generator is the flexibility in storage size. If you already use propane in your home, then powering your generator is as easy as hooking it up to your current propane tank (by a professional of course!). Don’t use propane in your home? No problem! Propane can also be stored in smaller 5-10 gallon cylinders.

3. RELIABILITY
Good luck refueling your gasoline or diesel powered generator if you run out during a power outage. Gas pumps rely on electricity to pump the gas up from the storage tank and into your gas can. Unlike gasoline or diesel, you can count on refueling your propane tank even in the middle of a power outage.

4. CONVENIENCE IS KEY
Ever notice the ridiculously long lines that form at gas stations before a big storm is expected to hit? Well, that’s because—as mentioned above—gas stations are virtually useless during a power outage. Rather than wait in long lines to make sure you have enough fuel, we’ll deliver the fuel you need to power your generator directly to you!

5. GREEN WITH ENVY
It’s no secret that propane burns cleaner, and emits fewer emissions than both gasoline and diesel. What you might not know is that you may be eligible to receive special financing, rebates or tax credits for going green with your generator fuel source!
