Here are the top 5 things to know about the Propane Green Autogas Solutions Act (“Propane GAS Act”) of 2011:
1. Existing tax credits of $0.50 per gallon for the purchase of propane autogas as a motor fuel would be extended through 2016.
2. The current tax credits for purchase of propane autogas vehicles (50-80% incremental cost) would be extended through 2016.
3. Credits for the installation of propane autogas refueling infrastructure (30% of the refueling property’s cost up to $30,000) would be extended through 2016.
4. The passage of this act would be a tremendous asset to fleet operators as they continue to see the significant return on investment and excellent overall vehicle benefits that propane powered vehicles provide.
5. This legislation supports our domestic economy, putting incentives directly into the pockets of U.S.fleets and switching to an American-made alternative fuel.

Funny you should mention fleets..I’ve never seen a propane-powered Amerigas delivery truck. Perhaps with the savings Amerigas could match prices with other local suppliers?
