Propane AutoGas & Outdoor Products Showcased at 2012 Texas Nursery & Landscape Expo

Propane was highly showcased at the 2012 Texas Nursery & Landscape Expo at the George R Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX on August 17-19, 2012. The show had around 6,500 attendees and 1,100 exhibits. This year’s attendees came from Texas, Louisiana and other Southern states. The expo, held by the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association, was the perfect venue to educate this industry on propane’s versatility and our new technology.

The Propane Council of Texas (ProCOT) featured a booth with propane mowers and refueling infrastructure and promoted their propane autogas incentive programs for mowers and vehicles. Both landscapers and landscape contractors were intrigued by the propane powered mowers that offer savings on fuel and maintenance.

“The awareness of propane is starting to gain traction throughout the state from traditional customers to universities that have shown interest in taking the next step in additional education and demonstration of propane products,” says Jim Lawton of Briggs & Stratton, the manufacturer of Ferris and Snapper Pro propane mowers.

ProCOT was not the only one educating this outdoor industry on propane. It was an industry effort. AmeriGas’ Metro Lawn division, Bob-Catt, Briggs & Stratton and LE Klein all had personal space to spread the propane message and wide product availability.

“The expo was an excellent avenue to get our message to landscapers from all over the state. There were many landscapers from not just the Houston area but also spanning from every pocket of the state from the Panhandle to Valley that showed genuine interest in switching to the cleaner, more inexpensive fuel. It is one of the best alt fuel shows we’ve ever attended,” says Jackie Mason of the Propane Council of Texas.
