The Strategic Accounts Project Manager’s primary responsibility is to effectively handle all construction and distribution issues related to new SA customers. The manager travels to the customer’s new business sites and meets as needed with the customer representatives to understand their circumstances and needs. Visits and meets local AmeriGas districts and managers to ensure that the supply scheduling is handled on time.
· Project Management and Construction – Responsible for SA installations; from customer created design, budget, construction, to completion while meeting all government regulations, building codes, and company standards. Manages the outsourcing of construction responsibilities as needed including the request for proposal (RFP), selection, and service agreement drafting responsibilities.
o Secures sub contractors and negotiates contracts.
o Develops and maintains project schedule and meets with District to explain
o Coordinate training with local districts (if dispenser account).
o Confirm all work is completed properly and on schedule
· Customer Satisfaction – Direct responsibility for the timely and safe installation of SA new business accounts
· Engineering - Is fully capable of managing the completion of the technical engineering requirements to set propane distribution tanks and pipelines in commercial projects. Controls engineering outsourcing as needed but manages all technical requirements of the proposals. Interpret plans and engineered designs to insure accuracy of placement and installation conform to all local officials.
· Operations – Handles the communications required to get capital approvals as well as interacting with the sales team and operations team to communicate future operations delivery requirements. Helps to establish training requirements for local personnel and assists in developing a clear, on-going maintenance plan for each project.
· Safety – Assists Safety Department in revising the OPS O&M Manual and Operator Qualification program, as necessary. Promotes the design and installation of systems that are safe and helps to establish a training schedule for field personnel when necessary.
· Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o Must have 5 + years in project management and building development required.
o Propane experience a plus but not required.
o Sales experience preferred along with ability to organize a team through to completion.
o Must be a leader, will lead sales meetings, conferences and make client proposals.
· BS in business, construction or engineering required with 5+ years construction experience
· (Note - primary skill set is in Project Management, Engineering and Construction are desired).
o Is qualified to work with: Excavation, Electrical, Concrete Cast in Place and General Construction
· Business experience in selling, operations and engineering required
· Background that includes project management is strongly desired.
